Professor

I was a teen fiction-writer who became intrigued by journalism in college in New York City, where all my creative energy had gone to wishing someone like me with no pitch could be a musical composer. The problem was, I knew a lot of journalists whose angle/beat was more central to the headlines. I was mostly observing the stranger-than-fiction dialogue falling out of other people's mouths. After extending the tutelage in semiotics I was privileged to have in theory seminars to the study of fashion as a blogger, I wanted to continue my education in literary studies: but I was a writer, which is to say... every single word I've shared with colleagues in seminar and meetings was treated like it wasn't my art to cite.
